Indiewire will provide regular updates of our predictions for the Golden Globe Award nominations through December 13th, when the nominations are announced. Here's our take on the best director category, the winner of which has not coincided with Oscar in the past three years (Globes went with James Cameron, David Fincher and Martin Scorsese to Oscars' Kathryn Bigelow, Tom Hooper and Michel Hazanavicius). This year, it seems very like both Bigelow and Hooper will get second chances at winning here, alongside Steven Spielberg and Ben Affleck. The fifth slot is much less certain, however, with Ang Lee, Paul Thomas Anderson and David O. Russell the most-likely-to-succeeds. Best director predictions below.
