The search for the next Wonder Woman is under way.
Us network The CW has begun casting for new series Amazon, an origin story scripted by Allan Heinberg (Sex and the City, The O.C., Grey's Anatomy).
Actresses in their early to mid 20s and 5ft 8ins or taller are being sought for the iconic role, according to Deadline.
The lead character is called Iris rather than Diana in the casting information, in an attempt to disguise the nature of the project. But there was an online outcry when many fans thought the superheroine's identity was being needlessly changed.
The story depicts the character's life as a young Amazon warrior who is "delighted and just as often horrified" at human society after arriving from "a remote, secluded country."
