The CW has begun searching for an actress to play Wonder Woman in a new TV pilot. Amazon - an origin story for the DC Comics heroine - was first announced in September, with writer Allan Heinberg (Grey's Anatomy, The Oc) scripting the adaptation. Though the project is still at script stage and is yet to receive a pilot order, The CW has already sent out a casting breakdown for the lead role. In a deviation from the source material, the new Wonder Woman is named Iris - rather than her comic book alias Diana - and is described as being "delighted" and "horrified" in equal measure by human society after being raised in seclusion.
