Emanuel and the Truth About Fishes was announced last night as one of the sixteen films premiering at Sundance in the Us Dramatic Competition category, and with a cast led by Kaya Scodelario (Moon) and Jessica Biel (The Illusionist), it is certainly one to look forward to.

Written and directed by Francesca Gregorini (Tanner Hall), the film sees rising young star Scodelario take the lead as the eponymous Emanuel.

“Emanuel, a troubled girl, becomes preoccupied with her mysterious, new neighbor, who bears a striking resemblance to her dead mother. In offering to babysit her newborn, Emanuel unwittingly enters a fragile, fictional world, of which she becomes the gatekeeper.”

Starring alongside Scodelario and Biel will be a promising cast, headed up by Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2), Frances O’Connor (A.I. Artificial Intelligence), Jimmi Simpson (Date Night), and Aneurin Barnard (Citadel).

Gregorini will be facing some strong competition in the same category, »
