2014 will see Marvel branching away from their more popular characters and introducing the Guardians Of The Galaxy. The guardians are not the same ones featured in the recent Dreamworks picture, but are instead an intergalactic band of protectors. With James Gunn in the director’s chair, we’re now hearing our first news on casting. With Rocket Raccoon and Groot most likely to be CGI, we’re hearing mutterings on who will play one of the human characters, Peter Quill Aka Star-Lord.
Star-Lord is a half human/half alien vigilante. He became Star-Lord, an interplanetary policeman, by an act of deception. Although he originally volunteered for the part, a Nasa colleague of his was chosen instead. Quill was able to take to his place. His weapons of choice are two Kree sub-machine guns.
