The 2013 Sundance Film Festival is starting to release its schedule. Wednesday brings the first round of programming - including its Us and World Cinema Dramatic and Documentary competition films, and its out-of-competition Next lineup. Among them are 115 features from 32 countries and 51 from first time filmmakers. Ninety-six of the films will be making their world premieres. The films were selected from 4,044 feature submissions. Thursday adds Spotlight, Park City at Midnight and New Frontiers. Monday December 3 is Premieres and Documentary Premieres and Tuesday is the short film program. The festival runs January 17-27 in Park City, Salt Lake City, Ogden and Sundance, Utah. Sundance Festival director John Cooper in an interview with the Indiewire edit team was enthusiastic about the state of the indie cinema based on the continued high quality of the submissions which are improving each year, he says.
