It’s been on the cards for a couple years now, yet we’ve heard very little of late for Martin Scorsese’s gangster biopic, I Heard You Paint Houses. The film, written by Oscar-winner Steven Zaillian, will depict the life of hitman-for-hire Frank Sheeran (nicknamed The Irishman), a man who was part of the Teamsters and confessed he was responsible for the notorious disappearance (and murder) of infamous union boss Jimmy Hoffa.

The title reflects the slang used by mobsters when setting up a contract killing and is based on the same-titled novel by Charles Brandt. In a recent interview promoting the excellent Silver Linings Playbook, Robert DeNiro confirmed he’s set to take the lead, reuniting with filmmaking icon Scorsese, with the film set for production very soon.
