Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes is developing a new period drama for Us television. The Gilded Age is currently in the works with NBC and Universal Television. Set in 1880s New York, the potential series will focus on the American Renaissance and the "millionaire titans" of the time. Fellowes said: "This was a vivid time, with dizzying, brilliant ascents and calamitous falls, of record-breaking ostentation and savage rivalry; a time when money was king."
