Movies who topped the charts last weekend had a lot to be thankful this week. The newcomers... not so much. As expected, following its high-riding opening, Breaking Dawn: Part 2 slipped almost 70% from last weekend but the final part of the final chapter still raked in $43 million, enough to hold on to number one. Skyfall held on strong, dropping less than 15% and maintaining second place. Lincoln expanded to its widest release so far, over 2000 theaters. The film increased its take to $25 million this weekend, breathing some new life into its financial outlook and giving it just enough steam to outperform the newcomers this weekend. The top new movie released this week, Rise of the Guardians, limped onto screens, taking in just $24 million over the weekend, adding to the $8 million it earned over Thanksgiving.
