A couple in Salzburg, Austria have looked after a pigeon for 17 years. Bertl and Irmi Reiterer had taken in the bird, naming her Susi, after discovering her with a broken wing one day - most likely as a result of being hit by a car. 84-year-old Bertl recalled: "We gave her some food and had her treated by a vet, and put her in the garage downstairs. That was in April, 17 years ago." The pigeon soon found home in the couple's kitchen oven, reports the Austrian Times.
