Elijah Wood has defended the upcoming Hobbit movies against claims that 27 animals died during production. Animal wranglers who worked on the films, which are produced and directed by Peter Jackson, have come out with accusations that living conditions for the movie's horses, goats, chickens, and sheep were deplorable - resulting in numerous deaths. Wood, who starred in the Lord of the Rings trilogy as Frodo Baggins and makes a cameo in the Hobbit films, told TMZ that he believes the reports are "heartbreaking" but also highly exaggerated.
