Award-winning director Barry Levinson, who won an Oscar for his 1989 film Rain Man starring Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise, returns to the big screen with The Bay.

Momentum Pictures today announced that The Bay will be released in UK cinemas on March 1, 2013. It stars Kristen Connolly (The Cabin in the Woods, The Happening, Revolutionary Road), Will Rogers (Law & Order) and Christopher Denham (Shutter Island, Argo).

The producers of horror hits Sinister, Insidious and Paranormal Activity join Levinson to deliver what's billed as "a stark, disturbing and truly nerve-shredding tale of an ecological nightmare."

Synopsis:

The quaint coastal town of Claridge, Maryland thrives on the safe, tranquil and abundant waters of Chesapeake Bay.
