Jack is no longer a killer. He takes the title of “Slayer” in the newly re-named Jack the Giant Slayer starring Nicholas Hoult, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Warwick Davis, Bill Nighy and Eddie Marsan. The movie takes the old Jack and the Beanstalk tale to new heights in this fairy tale re-telling which has Jack storming the castle to preserve a long-standing peace accord between men and giants. Simple farmer Jack (Hoult) bands with a league of knights on an expedition into the giant’s realm to rescue a princess from the giants and an evil prince (Tucci). We got a look at the film with an early trailer released last year, but the new trailer ups the tree-throwing, castle-burning ante.
The CGI-heavy trailer gives us a look at the skull-crushing army of giants and Jack’s knightly sidekicks (McGregor and Marsan) as they embark on their adventure up the beanstalk. »
