A pensioner has travelled 10,000 miles in order to scatter his wife's ashes. Mike Howitt, 80, took nearly two months to hitchhike from his home in Leicester to Table Mountain in Cape Town, South Africa, to fulfil his late wife Diana's wishes. The grandfather passed through 21 countries during his trek. He told The Mirror: "From the day I set off down the A47 from Leicester to the day I got to Cape Town, I never felt in danger.
