Following the first trailer released back in June, Blue Sky Studios has released a second trailer for their upcoming animated film Epic, scheduled for release on May 24 of next year.

Directed by Chris Wedge, who was behind previous animated hits Ice Age and Rio, the movie is being promoted on the back of Dreamworks’ Rise of the Guardians; the two share a similar fantasy-adventure scope as well as a common source, both being based upon William Joyce novels.

Here’s the official synopsis for Epic:

Epic is a 3D CG action-adventure comedy that reveals a hidden world unlike any other. From the creators of Ice Age and Rio, Epic tells the story of an ongoing battle deep in the forest between the forces of good who keep the natural world alive and the forces of evil who wish to destroy it.
