Hugh Laurie may soon return to TV as the star of NBC’s upcoming pirate drama.
The actor is in talks to play Blackbeard in the network’s new series Crossbones, EW.com confirmed.
Laurie would play Edward Teach, a.k.a Blackbeard, who “ruled over the pirates, thieves and ne’er-do-wells on the Bahamian island of New Providence in the early 1700s.” Crossbones has a 10-episode series order. The role would be Laurie’s first TV gig since House ended its run after eight seasons on Fox. »
