Universal Pictures has been working on an "Asteroids" movie for a while. And now comes word that project, based on the popular 1970s Atari video game, has signed on a new writer, Jez Butterworth (Fair Game, The Last Legion). Meanwhile, Warner Bros just hired Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class) to write the script for "Pinocchio," a live-action movie that has Tim Burton in talks to direct and Robert Downey Jr in talks to play Geppetto. "Pushing Daisies" creator Bryan Fuller wrote the original script. Downey provided some notes that Goldman will include in her version in hopes of getting the actor to officially sign on. »
