Another day, another set of freshman shows renewed for a full season after a promising debut this fall.

NBC has picked up its second new fall drama by giving a full 22-episode season order to Chicago Fire, the new fire department series from Law & Order creator Dick Wolf. Meanwhile, The CW also picked up a second new drama, ordering an additional nine episodes for their Beauty and the Beast revival, thereby bringing the first season to 22 episodes, as well.

Chicago Fire isn’t exactly a runaway hit, but it’s not a disaster, either. In fact, the series just hit a ratings high with its last episode (though that might have been due to a special airing of The Voice as a lead-in).
