Two new actors have been cast on S.H.I.E.L.D., ABC's wildly anticipated upcoming series from the mind of Joss Whedon and based on the world of Marvel comic books.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Elizabeth Henstridge will come on board the pilot as a "science whiz" of an agent named Gemma Simmons; while Iain De Caestecker will portray tech guru Leo Fitz.

Henstridge is a British actress who appeared in a pair of 2011 Hollyoaks episodes. De Caestecker, meanwhile, was born in Scotland and this character will make his first U.S. role.

The actors join Ming-Na and Clark Gregg on the series, which is expected to shoot this spring in time for a fall 2013 premiere. »
