Battlestar Galactica's David Eick has claimed that new prequel Blood & Chrome was never intended for television. The producer told sciencefiction.com that Syfy's decision not to pick up the project for a full series should not be considered "some kind of rejection or failure". "It was originally developed as an online project," Eick insisted. "It was a little frustrating for me a few months ago when I saw the headlines that the Blood & Chrome project had somehow been rejected or was a failed pilot or wasn't gonna make it on the air and all those kinds of things.
