Apple and Taiwanese smartphone maker Htc have ended their legal battle and signed a ten-year licence agreement. The two firms had been at loggerheads since March 2010, but they have now settled all their outstanding disputes over patents. The new licence agrement will extend to current and future patents held by Htc and Apple. Terms were not disclosed. Htc, which produces phones running the Android and Windows Phone operating systems, had clashed with Apple over the years in the battle for the lucrative global smartphone market.
