Steven Spielberg has discussed his latest film Lincoln. Starring Daniel Day-Lewis as the Us President Abraham Lincoln, the biopic follows Lincoln during his final four months of his life - focusing more on the Civil War and the battle he had with his cabinet over the decision to abolish slavery. However, what the film did not include was John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln. When Spielberg was asked why he didn't depict Lincoln's assassination, the iconic Hollywood director told Collider: "The decision was a pretty easy one to make. Had we taken it right up to the assassination, the film would've, for the first time, become exploitation. (more) »
