Charles Darwin received 4,000 votes for election to the House of Representatives in Tuesday's Us election. Paul Broun, a Republican from Georgia, is the representative for Georgia's tenth Congressional district and a member of the Us House of Representatives' Science, Space and Technology Committee. In September, Broun called evolution and the Big Bang Theory "lies straight from the pit of hell". ABC News reports that this speech led University of Georgia plant biology professor Jim Leebens-Mack to petition for a write-in campaign for Darwin to run against the unopposed Broun in protest.
