McG has signed up to ruin magic. The Terminator Salvation director (yes, him) has been hired to helm a film based on Hollywood’s famous Magic Castle.

The script is being written by Andrew Bara and Gabe Ferrari, the duo who is writing the upcoming Sabrina The Teenage Witch movie. There aren’t any plot details yet, but the project is being developed at 20th Century Fox, with Radar PicturesTed Field (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Invention of Lying) and Mike Weber set to produce.

The Magic Castle is currently a private magic club, and has been so since 1963. It is not open to the public, and any guest must be invited by a member. To be a member you’re suppose to be a practicing magician, but some celebrities have been allowed to perform. Neil Patrick Harris, Cary Grant, Steve Martin and Johnny Carson are among those who have allowed to. »
