An adaptation of 1993 novel The Giver has been in the works more or less since 1994, and it seems like the project is a little closer to happening with the announcement that Phillip Noyce (Salt, The Quiet American, The Bone Collector) is in talks to take the helm. Jeff Bridges has been attached to star for over a year (it was Bridges who bought the rights for the book two decades ago with his late father Lloyd in mind to star) and he will play the title role of ‘The Giver’ who is an important member of a future dystopian society. The plot outline goes as follow:
