Coming off a stellar turn in this year’s Argo, Alan Arkin is now looking to team up with a couple of Hollywood vets.  Variety reports that Arkin is in talks to join Robert De Niro and Sylvester Stallone in the boxing pic Grudge Match.  De Niro plays a former boxer who retired after being defeated by Stallone’s character and is now an out-of-shape restaurant owner, but the crux of Grudge Match revolves around the two stepping back into the ring for a rematch years later. Arkin is looking to play the former trainer of Stallone’s character “who despite a medical condition, agrees to resume his post after Stallone rescues him from a nursing home.”  Peter Segal (Get Smart) will direct from a script by Doug Ellin (Entourage), and Kim Basinger is also onboard to star.  Production begins early next year in Louisiana. »
