Is it really any surprise to you that Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel will be be released in 3D? At this point it shouldn’t be – first they delayed it for an entire year, and the film is now dilly-dallying while waiting for its June 14th, 2013. release; so hey, why not suck up to children and try to extort more money by post-converting it to 3D?

Warner Bros. just announced that they will be converting the Superman film to 3D, so that they can charge us more to go see it. Here’s Snyder’s not-so-convincing sales pitch:

The film is going to be a visually exciting experience in all formats: 2D, 3D and IMAX. Anticipating how audiences today embrace 3D, we designed and photographed the movie in a way that would allow ‘Man of Steel’ to captivate those movie goers, while respecting fans who prefer a more traditional cinematic experience. »
