Well, it’s not The Hulk, but it’s close. Paramount Pictures announced today that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has officially signed on to play the mythical Greek hero in “Hercules”. The movie will be based on the Radical Comics comic book series “Hercules: The Thracian Wars”, which takes a more grounded, gritty approach on the hero and found the titular badass fighting mercenary wars in faraway countries with a band of like-minded individuals. Johnson was previously attached to the role since February of this year, but this is your official confirmation of the casting. Production on the movie is set to kick off in early 2013 with Brett Ratner, also long attached, directing. Ryan Condal and Evan Spiliotopoulos wrote the screenplay, based on Steve Moore’s two limited series comic books. Peter Berg is co-producing »
