Okay, so Mickey Mouse won't own your entire childhood yet. Yesterday, rumors surfaced that Disney was going to wash down the purchase of Lucasfilm by buying Hasbro as well. But alas, that doesn't seem to be the case. According to the folks over at the Providence Journal (via /Film), CNBC analyst David Faber reached out to their sources at the toymaker about the proposed buyout and they said there's "absolutely nothing going on that they are aware of at all, in any way, shape or form." And well, that's about it. Essentially, the thinking goes that firstly, Disney just spent $4 billion dollars, so they probably don't have much more money kicking around to buy another pop culture behemoth, and secondly, untangling the current rights issues Hasbro has tied up with other studios would be too much hassle.
