"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" raced to the top of the sales charts on its first day of availability at online ticket seller Fandango. With 33 percent of the total sales on Fandango Wednesday, it knocked "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2" out of the number one spot it has held since October 1, when those tickets first went on sale.
