Elfquest has had a long and tortuous road to the big screen, but things may finally be looking up. Warner Bros. rights lapsed earlier this year, but now Stephanie Thorpe and Paula Rhodes have acquired the rights to the 35 year old comic book series. Thorpe and Rhodes made the announcement at Afm, and have crashed onto the scene with their short live action production ElfQuest: A Fan Imagining, which can be found on Youtube or below.

The series, by Wendy and Richard Pini, follows a tribe of elves on the World of Two Moons, who are driven from their forests by humans and stumble upon…more elves.

Wendy Pini had the following to say about Thorpe and Rhodes’: “With their deep love and understanding of the property, they represent a new direction for ‘ElfQuest,’…New creative energy and new connections in the larger media.”
