Even as the first snowfall of the year floats down onto New York Wednesday afternoon, parts of the city still have a long way to go to recover from Hurricane Sandy. If you missed Oscilloscope’s fundraising screenings at Brooklyn Bowl Monday night but love independent film and still have a hankering to help out with relief efforts, here are two more upcoming events for you to check out. On Thursday, Nov. 8, Ifp and Filmmaker Magazine are holding a kickoff party to celebrate their new partnership with the reRun Theater in Dumbo, Brooklyn, which involves the magazine’s editorial staff curating theatrical screenings of work from self-distributed filmmakers. That night, the organizers will be distributing pre-paid envelopes to send to the NY Red Cross for suggested $10 donations for storm relief.
