Janine Sherman Barrois Sells Twisted Murder Procedural To CBS; Could Become Showrunner
Janine Sherman Barrois (above), executive producer, and writer on CBS hit series Criminal Minds, is one-third of a trio who've sold a new hour-long murder procedural to CBS titled, Darkness Falls, a show that will explore the complex dynamic of an FBI psychologist and a homicide specialist as they journey into small communities around the country to solve the darkest, most twisted single murders. The other 2 names in the trio are The Mark Gordon Company and Barrois partner at Criminal Minds Erica Messer. Both Barrois and Messer will write and executive produce Darkness Falls. And if the project gets ordered to series, Barrois will serve as showrunner for it, which would be awesome for her! There certainly aren't many black women showrunners.
