Philomena which is the true story of an Irish woman seeking the illegitimate son who she was forced to put up for adoption in the Us, has cast Judi Dench and Steve Coogan. Helmed by Stephen Frears, the project is adapted from the book by former BBC journalist Martin Sixsmith called ''The Lost Child of Philomena Lee: A Mother, Her Son and a 50 Year Search.'' Variety reports that Dench would play Philomena Lee, while Coogain, who co-wrote the script with Jeff Pope, is in as Sixsmith. Filming starts in November with Gaby Tana and Tracey Seaward producing for Pathe, Coogan via his Baby Cow and BBC Films. »
