"I guarantee, if you’re a Smurf fan and you see this movie, you’ll see the Smurfs that you grew up with and you’ll see The Smurfs movie that you want,"  "The Smurfs" auteur Raja Gosnell ("Big Momma's House," "Scooby-Doo," "Beverly Hills Chihuahua") said on the eve of the hybrid live-action/CGI feature's release last year. And while that remains to be seen, since no one we know actually saw "The Smurfs," clearly it was the Smurfs movie for many audiences, as the picture went on to gross a whopping $563 million worldwide.
