It seems in their attempt to get themselves out of bankruptcy, and use their back catalog for everything its worth, MGM holds nothing sacred. The studio has struck a deal with FX to create a dramatic series based on the Coen Brothers’ seminal 1996 film “Fargo.” Reports of a television adaptation first began in March, and while we didn’t think any of the original cast or crew would be involved, Deadline is reporting that the Academy Award-winning sibling duo will executive produce. That’s not to say they’ll be directly involved -- we’d imagine that the positions are largely ceremonial anyway -- as Noah Hawley (“The Unusuals," “My Generation”) will be writing the project. Exact details aren't known just yet, but it's probably not a stretch to assume that the show will focus on a small town sheriff in North Dakota whose cases take her in over her head. »
