Two weeks ago, when Gold Derby discovered a goof in Emmy judging in two categories, the TV academy implemented a new, additional round of voting that possibly could help "New Girl" stars Zooey Deschanel and Max Greenfield to stage upsets tonight. The goof occurred at the production center that distributes DVDs to voters. The episode entered by Greenfield for Best Supporting Comedy Actor ("Control") was accidently submitted as the entry of his costar Zooey Deschanel in the Best Actress race. Her episode, "Bad in Bed," was sent to judges of Best Supporting Comedy Actor as if it was Greenfield's submission. Since ballots had already been returned by voters and there were only two weeks to go before Emmy night, the TV academy decided to address the matter in a simplified manner. The judges of both categories were sent the correct DVDs of "Control" and "Bad in Bed" with an explanation of the mixup. »
