Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012

As it did Monday, "The Voice" improved significantly on its ratings from a week ago. Tuesday's show grew by 2 million viewers and more than half a point among adults 18-49 over a week ago. "Go On" also held pretty steady -- it lost more of its lead-in but was only down by .1 in the 18-49 demographic vs. last week.

That did not, however, translate into an across-the-board win for the night. NBC dominated the 18-49 demo but narrowly lost the total-viewer race to CBS.

Elsewhere, a "20/20" special honoring fan-favorite TV shows and characters did fairly well in viewers (if not the demo), and the "So You Think You Can Dance" season finale was up from last week for Fox.

CBS drew 8.8 million viewers and a 5.9 rating/9 share in households for the night, just beating the 8.7 million and 5.4/9 for NBC. ABC (6.3 million, 4.3/7) took third. Fox (4.6 million, »
