In una nuova intervista, Norman Reedus, il volto di Daryl in The Walking Dead, ha parlato del suo personaggio all'interno della terza stagione: "Si sta aprendo con le persone e sta trovando delle ragioni per combattere per alcune persone e per far parte di un gruppo". Reedus aggiunge che, con l'uscita di scena di Shane, Daryl avrà più responsabilità anche se "Daryl non vuole responsabilità, sta solo cercando di adattarsi". Anche Lauren Cohan, alias Maggie, ha parlato del serial: "Quel che è eccitante per Maggie è che sta cercando di trovare un senso di gioia in quel che fanno e la gioia della vittoria quando abbatte uno zombie"; l'attrice ha poi confermato che nella terza stagione il gruppo incontrerà più zombie rispetto alle precedenti stagioni.
