James Cameron’s been in the news ad nauseum for his Avatar sequels (he’s planning a 2nd, 3rd and 4th installment…), and in a recent interview, Cameron provided an interesting “what if?” Apparently, Steven Spielberg beat out Cameron for the rights to Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park “by a few hours.”

If Cameron had directed the film, he described that he would “…have gone further…Nastier, much nastier… [M]ine would have been ‘Aliens’ with dinosaurs.“ Why is he bringing this up now, almost 20 years after the release of Jurassic Park? Ego and attention-seeking spring to mind, but, to his credit, he did admit that Spielberg was the right man for job.
