The show rated 1.662m across the five city metro market, according to preliminary ratings from OzTam.
The show’s previous best was the series return on 1.589m.
Seven’s Australian drama Winners & Losers won its 8.30pm time slot, rating 1.135m.
The X Factor also won across all three key advertising demographics while Winners & Losers was second in 18-49 and 25-54 followed by Nine’s Big Brother, but the two shows swapped positions in 16-39.
Nine’s Anger Management, at 8.30pm has begun to struggle, the show rating 483,000 and placing 20th for the night, and fourth in its time slot behind Winners & Losers, Ten’s NCIS on 604,000, ABC’s Rick Stein Tastes
