South Korean director Kim Ki-duk’s ‘Pieta’ won the Golden Lion for best film at the Venice Film Festival. Earlier in 2004 Duk had won the same award for his ’3-Iron’.

“Pieta” that means piety in English captures the mysterious relationship between a brutal man who works for loan sharks and a middle-aged woman who claims to be his mother, mixing Christian symbolism and highly sexual content.
