Non c’è n’è mai stato uno solo. Gli orfani della trilogia di Jason Bourne con protagonista Matt Damon avranno la possibilità di approfondire la mitologia del mondo legato all’agente grazie allo spin-off The Bourne Legacy.
Nessuno ha preso il posto di Damon, anche perché si tratta di un film che si svolge nello stesso universo temporale. Jeremy Renner interpreta Aaron Cross, un agente sottoposto ad un programma simile a Treadstone e chiamato Outcome (sì, ce ne sono molti!). Le azioni di Jason Bourne avranno conseguenza anche su Cross e su tutto il suo mondo. Il castello di carte inizia a crollare, fino alla resa dei conti finale.
Il regista Tony Gilroy, sceneggiatore dei primi tre film, costruisce una storia piena di suspense con protagonisti anche Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton e Oscar Isaac, e volti noti della saga come Joan Allen, Albert Finney e Stacy Keach.
