Après Cannes, le Festival international du film de Toronto est le nec plus ultra du cinéma mondial. Pour sa 37e édition, le Tiff offre encore une fois une programmation renversante qui comprend les dernières œuvres de Spike Lee, Costa-Gavras, Apichatpong Weerasethakul, Robert Redford, Laurent Cantet, Neil Jordan, Ben Affleck, Chen Kaige, François Ozon, Sion Sono, Michel Gondry, Takeshi Kitano, Sarah Polley, Carlos Reygadas, Claude Miller et Rob Zombie.
Les films québécois ne sont pas en reste alors que les derniers ouvrages de Xavier Dolan, Bernard Émond, Kim Nguyen, Rafaël Ouellet et Manon Briand ont été retenus.
