L’atteso ritorno di Susanne Bier all’indomani dell’Oscar come miglior film straniero e del Golden Globe per In un mondo migliore (2011), sorprende e non delude affatto. A sorprendere è il tono e il colore acceso e solare del suo nuovo film, che riprende i temi e lo stile già consolidati dalla regista danese nei drammi familiari precedenti, compattando questa nuova storia corale in un ritmo serrato e in una chiave brillante che esalta il peculiare tratteggio psicologico dei vari personaggi. Quasi che l’orchestrazione in battere dei drammi precedenti sia in questo caso tutta in levare, in un controcanto che forse meglio si addice alla vena agrodolce della regista danese. Considerando che il lato meno convincente delle sue trame drammatiche era, tutto sommato, il finale riconciliatorio (dall’agro al dolce, appunto), alla Bier lavorare sul rovescio dell’ordito parrebbe riuscir meglio.
