In an interview with HitFix, Kaling -- who has written and starred on "The Office" since the start of the NBC series-- revealed how much of a struggle her first script was.
"I was terrified. The script was 40 pages long," she said. "[Writers] Mike Schur and Bj Novak turned in lean 32 page drafts that were tight with jokes. I had to learn how to use Final Draft. It was like Podunk They were just super intimidating. They were not the kind of guys that you would necessarily want to be like, 'Hey, can you help me format this?' You wouldn't want to do that."
Kaling's "The Mindy Project" airs this month, which also marks the final season of "The Office."
