Earlier today we were just writing about "The Green Blade Rises," one of a whole host of projects Terrence Malick has in the pipeline. Of course, he's just producing this film, which tells the story of a young Abraham Lincoln and his hardscrabble upbringing, with writing and directing duties handled by his protégé and collaborator A.J. Edwards. It was already announced that Sarah Lincoln, Abe's stepmother, would be played by Diane Kruger, but she'll be joined by Jason Clarke is in final negotiations to play Tom Lincoln, Abe's father. The Australian actor has steadily making it up the ranks, having already appeared in "Public Enemies," "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps," "The Texas Killing Fields," and last week's superb "Lawless" (he plays one of the Bondurant brothers that isn't Tom Hardy or Shia Labeouf).
