E’ da sempre una presenza impalpabile, quasi un fantasma, quella di Terrence Malick, ma il suo non esserci o nascondersi ha creato un mito che il suo cinema non ha fatto altro che ampliare. Così, averlo alla 69^ Mostra del Cinema di Venezia con To the Wonder, suo 2° film in 2 anni (lui, che tra il 2° e il 3° film ne ha lasciati passare 20), ha a che fare allo stesso tempo con un rito sacrale che di conseguenza lascia spazio anche alla reazione iconoclasta di coloro che a fine film hanno fischiato, come anche per il capolavoro The Tree of Life che l’anno scorso vinse la Palma d’oro a Cannes.
Stavolta la storia e i temi virano all’intimità: protagonista infatti è una coppia che dalla Francia si trasferisce in America per assecondare il lavoro di lui. Ma li la donna si sente sola e distante dal compagno, decidendo di andarsene »
