Will 'The Amazing Race' really win -- yawn -- its Ninth Reality-Competition Emmy?
It's no surprise that Gold Derby's Editors, Experts and Users all think "The Amazing Race" will win its ninth Emmy this year in the race for Best Reality-Competiton Series. Besides a single upset by "Top Chef" in 2010, "The Amazing Race" has won this trophy every year of the category's existence. While there's no denying the Phil Keoghan-hosted series is great stuff, when it comes to the Emmys, isn't eight enough? Apparently not. According to Gold Derby polling, "The Amazing Race" trumps all others in this category with 5/6 odds to win. In descending order, the other candidates are "Top Chef" (5/1), "The Voice" (11/2), "So You Think You Can Dance" (14/1), "Project Runway" (33/1) and "Dancing With the Stars" (50/1).
