Armando Iannucci has said that his next project will be a satirical look at the rise of social media. Iannucci's political satire The Thick of It airs the first episode of its latest series next week, premiering on BBC Two on September 8. His Us show Veep has also been renewed for a second season. However, the writer and broadcaster said that he has also been working on a new project. Speaking to The Observer, the 48-year-old revealed that he has written a pilot focusing on social media companies that is currently being considered by HBO. He said of the subject matter: "Microsoft, Google, Facebook; you have these twentysomethings who have a way into billions of households. Where's the power gone?
